Ask your questions!
Wednesday 27th September 2023
6.30pm at Lochaber Chamber of Commerce
At this community information evening, we’ll hear from Grant Moir, CEO of Cairngorms National Park Authority, on what becoming a National Park has meant for the communities around the Cairngorms.
- What does becoming a National Park mean in practice?
- What changes when your area is a National Park?
- What are the benefits and/or drawbacks for communities?
- What effect might it have on local business?
Why Lochaber?
Lochaber has been considered as a potential location for a national park for over 70 years, and with good reason: we have the highest mountain in the UK, spectacular mountain and coastal scenery, Atlantic rainforest and ancient Caledonian pine forest, complex geology, and a long cultural history – over 1,600 square kilometres of Lochaber already lies within National Scenic Areas.
We need your views! The National Park Working Group are keen to hear from the community so please come along and ask your questions.
Shame this wasn’t publicised a bit better. As it is majority of Lochaber knew and still knows nothing about this.
